1st Bishopton Rover Scouts were formed around 15 years ago, when the existing venture unit was split in two. This split produced the Pioneers (15-18 ) and Rovers (18-25).
This now fits in nicely with the Scout Network. you could say we're revolutionaries! We meet every Wednesday evening in Bishopton Scout Hall, where we bitch, wind each other up and throw things at each other for an hour before going to one of the local drinking establishments.
Other than that we have a wide and varied programme including climbing, abseiling, Laser Quest, camping, bowling and brewery tours. Outwith this the majority of our members are leaders in all of the youth sections of the Scout group.
We also run national Venture Scout Events such as a Beach Party and Blackpool Towers, and help out at other international events such as Blair Atholl. |
